Wharncliffe Ironwood

150.00

This is a slick EDC, hard use, or collection piece.  The Wharncliffe or "sheepsfoot" style blade makes it an excellent slicer.  With a 3.5" blade and a total length of 7.75", there is plenty of handle for large hands.  The handle is desert ironwood with carbon fiber tubes for pins.  It gives the knife a business first look from afar, but it has depth up close.  The steel is CPM 20CV, hardened to 61-62 HRC.  CPM 20CV is the American twin to the Austrian steel M390.  It has a very high (20%) chromium content making it incredibly stainless.  It also has a good amount of vanadium which forms carbides and gives the steel great wear resistance and edge retention. The knife comes with a simple kydex sheath.

This knife has a TINY blemish on the right side (near the 20CV etch).  I got sloppy while etching the steel name into the blade and touched part of the steel that was not supposed to be etched.  Consequently, it is priced lower than it would be.  It is, however, still perfectly fine for use.  Most people would not even notice the blemish.
